Our Story

About GharLink

We're building Nepal's first truly digital rental ecosystem—one that eliminates middlemen, creates transparency, and makes renting fair for everyone.

Our Story

The idea for GharLink was born from frustration. Like millions of Nepalis, our founders experienced the pain of the traditional rental system firsthand. Paying hefty broker fees, dealing with verbal agreements, chasing receipts, and facing surprise rent increases were all too common experiences.

Nepal's rental market has remained largely unchanged for decades despite digital transformation in other sectors. While we can book flights, order food, and transfer money with our phones, finding a rental property still meant relying on neighborhood dalals and paper contracts. The system was designed for another era.

We asked ourselves: What if we could bring the same convenience and transparency to renting that Uber brought to transportation? What if tenants could find properties on a map, sign contracts digitally, and pay rent through an app? What if owners could find verified tenants without middlemen?

GharLink is our answer to these questions. We're not just building an app—we're transforming how Nepal thinks about renting. Our platform combines local market understanding with global technology standards to create something uniquely suited for Nepali renters and property owners.

The Problem We're Solving

Renting in Nepal has been plagued by inefficiencies and exploitation for decades. These are the real challenges faced by millions of Nepalis.

The Dalal System

Brokers charge 1-2 months rent as commission, exploiting both owners and tenants. This adds Rs. 10,000-100,000 to every rental transaction in Nepal's cities.

Lack of Transparency

No way to verify property conditions before visiting, no information about owner history, and no reliable method to check if a tenant is trustworthy.

Informal Agreements

Verbal agreements and handwritten contracts lead to disputes about rent increases, deposit returns, maintenance responsibilities, and house rules.

Manual Payments

Cash-based rent payments with no receipts, no documentation, and constant tension between owners chasing payments and tenants managing cash.

How GharLink Solves It

Our platform addresses every pain point with technology-driven solutions designed specifically for Nepal's rental market.

Direct Connection

GharLink connects owners and tenants directly through our app, completely eliminating broker fees and middleman exploitation.

Complete Transparency

Innovation

We constantly innovate to solve real problems in Nepal's rental market. From map-based discovery to smart contracts, we lead with technology.

Fairness

We believe in fair dealings for both owners and tenants. Our platform creates balanced relationships where both parties benefit equally.

Leading Nepal's Rental Digital Transformation

Nepal is experiencing rapid digital transformation. Mobile internet penetration has skyrocketed, digital payments are becoming mainstream, and young Nepalis expect digital solutions for everyday problems. Yet the rental market has remained stubbornly analog.

GharLink is at the forefront of changing this. We're not just digitizing the existing process—we're reimagining it entirely. Our map-based discovery, borrowed from ride-sharing apps, is intuitive for Nepalis already using Pathao and Uber. Our payment integration works with eSewa, Khalti, and other wallets people use daily.

We believe that within five years, the concept of paying a broker to find a rental property will seem as outdated as using a travel agent to book a domestic flight. GharLink is building that future today.
